Appalachian Tunes will hold traditional old-time and bluegrass music classes for adults and young adults in Ashe County. The 20-week session, May – September, 2024, offers weekly 2-hour evening classes.  The 20-week session is $200 with scholarships available. The program will begin May 28th and registration is now open. Click the link above for registration information.

Stop by the Arts Center Gallery through May 27th to view Portals and Passages!
This stunning exhibit features over 30 local artists with a wide variety of mediums. All artworks are created around the theme of “Portals and Passages,” which includes subject matter such as roads, bridges, and conceptual artwork. Join us for the reception during the Chocolate Crawl on Friday, May 10, 5 pm – 7 pm!

Visit the Ashe Arts Center

The Ashe Arts Center, located in downtown West Jefferson’s Arts District, is home to the Arts Council’s offices. The Ashe Arts Center houses The Gallery, a year-round exhibition space that showcases works of art by local and regional artists. The Gallery Shop features locally produced art and crafts. The restored stone building continues the legacy created in 1938 when it was built by the Works Progress Administration as a gathering place for the community.
