About the Performers:
Wayne Henderson & Friends
Renowned luthier and award-winning guitarist Wayne Henderson brings his signature finger-picking style back to the stage, joined by longtime musical friends Randy Greer (mandolin), Josh Scott (bass), and the legendary Herb Key (rhythm guitar). Hailing from Grayson County, Virginia, Wayne is world-famous for the guitars he builds—played by the likes of Doc Watson and Eric Clapton—and for the lightning-fast picking he’s perfected over decades of performing. With more than 300 fiddlers’ convention ribbons to his name and a rich musical legacy rooted in Appalachian tradition, Henderson’s set promises instrumental mastery, heartfelt tunes, and a touch of mountain magic.
Zach Dease & Adam Goodrich
Luthier and guitarist Zach Dease (King, NC) and multi-instrumentalist Adam Goodrich (Winston-Salem, NC) bring skill, style, and soul to the stage. Zach blends thoughtful craftsmanship with warm acoustic tone, performing on instruments he’s built by hand. Adam is a seasoned studio and live musician who teaches and plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, and ukulele. Together, they offer a rootsy, melodic set that showcases their instrumental versatility and deep musical connection.
Old Men in Hats
Old Men in Hats are three longtime friends and seasoned musicians—Kenneth Bloom, Steve Shelton, and Skip Staples—who bring a lifetime of musical experience to every performance. Multi-instrumentalist Kenneth Bloom has toured internationally and is known for building and teaching the bowed dulcimer. Percussionist Steve Shelton is a retired music educator who’s taught thousands of students. Guitarist Skip Staples has been playing in bands since he was a teen, bringing a passion for performance and a deep catalog of songs. Together, they blend blues, jazz, old country, Western swing, and more—offering unexpected delights like a concert zither tune or a reggae tango. With rich harmonies, playful arrangements, and heartfelt musicianship, Old Men in Hats promise a lively, genre-spanning show you won’t forget.
