Exhibit Opening Reception: Mix It Up

Gale Champion is known for her detail in her representational watercolor, her unusual webbed backgrounds in her contemporary watercolors, and her abstract/impressionistic alcohol inks. Her three styles and two mediums combine for an unique and fascinating “mix it up” exhibition. Her skill in combining color, shape, light and composition are reflected in creating something of beauty to pass along to the viewers. Many of her paintings are inspired by the natural beauty of our state.

Ms. Champion has her degrees in Business Education and this field has been her career focus, but has been a creative painter all her life.  After retiring as a community college teacher and working as a Sales Consultant in the southeastern US for McGraw-Hill Publishing Company,  she has concentrated on her art.  She is a member of the Watercolor Society of NC  Southern Watercolor Society and High Country Water Media Society. Ms. Champion splits her time between the NC mountains and the NC coast.

Opening reception will be held Friday, May 5 from 5-7pm.

The “Mix It Up” exhibit will be on display through June 3. The Ashe Arts Center Gallery is open Monday thru Friday 9-5 and 10-4 on Saturday. For more information please call 336-846-2787.
